Patrizia Garengo

Patrizia Garengo is assistant professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padua.
Just after completing a Business Economics degree, she carried out research, consultancy and education as member of a Business School and she had one year work experience in a consultancy company.
She won a PhD scholarship in Business Management and Industrial Engineering at the University of Padua. 
During these years, she studied Performance Measurement in Italian SMEs in-depth,  and was visiting researcher at the University of Strathclyde where she carried out theoretical and empirical investigations.
In order to improve her research quality, s
ince 2003 she has collaborates systematically with leading international research centers. 
Currently, she is research fellow at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow (UK) and at Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester (UK).

Paolo Giacon

Paolo Giacon svolge attività di ricerca presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria
Industriale dell’Università degli Studi di Padova. Dopo la laurea in Ingegneria delle
Telecomunicazioni si trasferisce presso l’Università’ degli Studi di Ferrara dove
partecipa ad un progetto di ricerca biennale nel campo della multimedialità.
Successivamente consegue un Master in Gestione dell’Innovazione e Project
Management ed il titolo di dottore di ricerca in Ingegneria Gestionale con una tesi
dottorale riguardante le motivazioni imprenditoriali e la natura delle opportunità
imprenditoriali nei settori ad alta tecnologia.
E’ autore e curatore di libri (Innovazione, ricerca e sviluppo nelle PMI dell’area vicentina,
L’Italia ha smesso di credere nell’alta tecnologia?, Tempo di Crescere?, 
Libro Bianco sull’Innovazione e la Creazione di Impresa in provincia di Padova),
saggi ed ha presentato i risultati delle proprie ricerche in convegni nazionali ed internazionali.
I suoi interessi di ricerca includono: la strategia aziendale, il processo di
creazione di nuove imprese in settori ad alto valore aggiunto e ad alta tecnologia, la
formazione per l’imprenditorialità, l’imprenditorialità giovanile, l’imprenditorialità
accademica, le policies per la nascita e la crescita di imprese innovative. Paolo Giacon
e’ membro dello European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship e della
United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

Michael Sheriff, B.Eng (Hons)

Michael Sheriff graduated with a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering (hons)
from the University of Sierra Leone, A Masters in Project and Innovation
Management from the University of Padua and a professional training in Grenoble,
France. Employed as trainee engineer at the Salini SPA and have worked as head of
the technical department of the Murialdo Polytechnic in Sierra Leone. I have also
worked as a research assistant for a project sponsored by the International
Development Research Council (IDRC) under the auspices of the Mechanical
Engineering Department of the University of Sierra Leone. A wealth of experience in
operations and project management. Worked as project engineer for United Nations
projects in Sierra Leone and later as Programme Coordinator for projects executed by
the African Housing Fund in various countries in Africa.
In Italy, worked in the engineering and production departments of a couple of
factories. Lately worked as a consultant of operations management for SME’s in Italy
and Business Development for emerging economies especially in Africa. Presented
several workshops and authored some publications. A member of various professional
and civic organizations. At present pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Padua with
research interests in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Saadat Saeed, M.Sc, MBA

Saadat Saeed is an active researcher in the area of technology adoption and
entrepreneurship. He has Master of Science in Management (University of Glasgow,
UK), Statistics (University of Punjab, Pakistan) and Business Administration
(COMSATS, Pakistan). Currently he is a PhD Scholar in Management Engineering,
Department of Industrial Engineering, Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy. He has
different achievements in his career which includes partially funded Scholarship for
M.Sc Management (University of Glasgow, UK), Secured funding for International
Conference (High Technology Small Firms Conference, Manchester Business School),
Project Research grant by “COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Pakistan”
(Project title: Technology adoption among bank employee) and fully funded
scholarship for PhD at University of Padova, Italy. He has presented his research
work in different conferences (SZABIST National Research Conference, High
Technology Small Firms Conference, Manchester Business School, UK and University
of Central Punjab, Pakistan). He is actually researching on the role of Universities in
Entrepreneurship Development, by comparing Entrepreneurial intentions among
Nascent and in Action entrepreneurs.

Masoud Mostafavi, M.Sc.

Masoud Mostafavi holds two master degrees from Chalmers University of
Technology in Gothenburg (Sweden) in Supply Chain and Innovation Management.
He has the experience of almost 30 team work industrial projects and his areas of
interest include innovation engineering, entrepreneurship strategies, competitive
strategy formulation and market analysis. He has also worked in the areas of the lean
philosophy and its practices in logistics and operation management as well as
organizational behavior, teams and collaborative work. He focuses on New Product
Development, and tries to explore the two areas of "managing technological change"
and "entrepreneurial strategies" with the aim of guidelines for optimizing new product
development process. The aims of his research are to investigate the relationship
between managing technological change & entrepreneurial strategies, and to explore
the synergies among them in new product development. The empirical base of the
research is composed of entrepreneurial companies like multinational firms and
private based SME’s. The results of his work can advise managers and entrepreneurs
with the strategies useful to increase competitiveness through optimized product
development, optimum time to market and eventually maximized market share.

Ali Raza

Ali Raza holds a Bachelor in Commerce and a MS in Business Administration from Hajvery University, Lahore (Pakistan) with Gold Medal. He is currently a PhD Student in the Management and Entrepreneurship Research Unit, Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Padova, Italy. Before joining the University of Padua he had some industrial and research assistantship experience in Pakistan. His areas of interest include cross national-contingencies impacting the entrepreneurial development at country level, with special focus on national cultural, economic, political, and regulatory dimensions. He is passionate to publish his results in leading entrepreneurship journals and conferences.
